Paris Nighttime Photo Tour
Nighttime Photography Workshop (en français)
In this workshop we’ll explore the nighttime beauty of Paris, the city of light. We’ll discuss light levels, changing ISO settings on your camera, working with white balance and how at night we will contend with a range of different coloured light sources. We’ll experiment with different short, long and very long exposure times (ideally on tripod to keep certain elements of our pictures sharp) which will allow us to experiment in which there are still, sharp as well as blurred elements in the photograph. We’ll also introduce some experimental techniques like light painting as well as mixing light from an on-camera flash along with the existing ambient light found in the scene photographed.
Class will meet in central Paris approximately an hour before sunset, allowing us time to cover some technical questions before beginning to photograph the before and after sunset and then as nightfall arrives. This is one of the most beautiful times of the day to photograph as the colours steadily change as the sun changes position.
