Paris Belleville Photo Tour

Buttes Chaumont and Père Lachaise Cemetery

Belleville Photography Tour

The Belleville District, like Montmartre, is on a hillside in the North of Paris and because of its isolation was able to maintain is village-like feel much longer than the center of Paris. In some respects, Belleville is to the late 20th/early 21st century of what Montmartre was at the beginning of the 20th for artists. The Belleville district, while less glamourous than sections like the Latin Quarter or the Marais, has a very distinct bohemian charm and any number of beautiful sites to visit. There is the favorite Parisian garden, the Buttes Chaumont, the Père Lachaise cemetery (perhaps the most famous in the world), the Parc de Belleville, as well as the very charming worker’s village with its two story houses with small private gardens in the Mouzaia section and many other wonderful hidden treasures.
