Pinhole Photo Workshop

Paris Pinhole Photo Workshop (en français)

Pinhole Photos

Come discover the origins of photography! We’ll make out own pinhole cameras from metal coffee or tea tins. No need of glass lenses, no batteries, not even a viewfinder!  We’ll go back to the earliest photography technology long before even the first photographs made in the 19th century. We’ll create images that, while photographic, won’t look like any other photos you’ve taken before!

To begin with, we’ll make our cameras from metal canisters (we recommend the cylindrical Illy coffee cans). Once we transform the canisters into cameras (in about five minutes!), we’ll place traditional black and white paper inside and we’ll be off in search of pictures! After taking several negatives with the cameras, we’ll finish the workshop by transferring at least one of the negatives into a finished black and white positive image.

Signing up for this fun and easy to learn workshop you will learn:

What you’ll need to bring: Ideally, bring an all metal canister. (at Monoprix you’ll find cylindrical metal Illy brand coffee containers or at Franprix, look for the Franprix brand metal tea canisters). We’ll supply all the necessary chemistry and black and white photo paper, black electrical tape, scissors, etc.

Price: 145 € per person (reduction if you come with a friend).
